The education model of Taipei Computational Thinking School revolves around three PBL model, which are Program-based learning (PBL), Phenomenon-based learning (PhenoBL), and Project-based learning (PBL), run through the entirety and every course design.
1. Program-based learning
Learning how to programming: Students can dig deeper into various technology and learn more knowledge and skills by compiling programs; moreover, it improves their ability to thinking, creating, and expressing. The purpose of blending technology into educating is to support teachers to promote the quality of teaching and helps students improve their learning effectiveness. Furthermore, helps students to learn meaningfully.
2. Phenomenon-based learning
Phenomenon based learning is the full view of thematic teaching. Different from the weekly curriculum of the school courses as usual, the front line of our learning is the whole real world. For example, water resources, energy, media, and technology, are all not only across multiple academic fields but also inseparably exist among our lives. According to the Cognitive-developmental theory announced by Piaget, students can gain enough ability and intelligence for solving questions that are more enormous during the high-school age. And do unified learning by making time plans and performance management.
3. Project-based learning
Learning way based on the real world and is student-centered. Building relationships between learning and significant missions or questions, and makes learners focus on them. Besides, planning authentic missions and highlights burying learning in complicated and meaningful question scenes. Making learners study the science knowledge hiding behind the questions by self-exploring and cooperating, also develop skills of solving questions and abilities of self-learning.
